MZSS members are divided into 6 categories based on experience, training and authorisations. Click on a category for more information.
Intern Ski Patroler is the entry level for all new members. At this stage the person familiarises themselves with the basic principles, safety standards, equipment, communication protocols and field rules.
Junior Ski Patroler is the first operational level. Present in real tasks, learns to move safely on ski slopes and undertakes simple interventions under supervision.
Pre Ski Patroler is a key transition between Junior and the fully operational Ski Patroler. Has considerable field confidence and can carry out some tasks independently.
Ski Patroler is the fully operational and most critical level. Responds to interventions, implements procedures, communicates with guests and maintains slope safety.
Senior Ski Patroler is the highest operational rank — a patroller with high expertise, stability and extensive experience who can lead teams and make decisions under pressure.
Doctor Ski Patroler is a specialised category reserved only for medical professionals with appropriate education and licence, who also possess basic field knowledge. A parallel specialised role, not a rank above Senior.
