Who can apply?

The application is open to any adult citizen of North Macedonia who is physically and psychologically prepared to participate in rescue activities at ski resorts.

Process

The path to becoming a rescuer

From application to official status — 5 clear steps.

Training
First aid, rope techniques, evacuation and 7 days of field training.

Exam
Final exam before a three-member committee — first aid, rope technique, skiing.

Rescuer
After passing the exam you receive official MZSS Rescuer status.
Training programme

Three training modules

First Aid
Module 01
First Aid
CPR, advanced life-saving techniques and practical mastery of first aid skills at the highest level.
Cable Car Evacuation
Module 02
Cable Car Evacuation
Rope techniques, safe and rapid passenger evacuation, practical exercise on a real cable car installation.
Akja Sled
Module 03
Akja Sled Operation
Transport of injured skiers, stabilisation of the injured person and safe movement over terrain.
Finances

How much does it cost?

Training is accessible to everyone. Costs are split into two parts — a one-time training fee and an annual membership fee after passing the exam.

Included in the price:
  • Ski pass for 7 ski days
  • Accommodation for 6 nights
  • Meals — 3 meals per day
  • Shared specialised rescue equipment
  • Literature and learning materials
Not included:
  • Ski equipment (skis, poles, helmet, board)
  • Transport to the ski resort
Annual membership fee
1,500 MKD
annual · only after passing the exam
Payment:
  • The fee is paid after passing the final exam, at the end of the ski season
  • Can be paid in 3 monthly instalments
Membership includes:
  • Official status — MZSS Rescuer
  • Access to all future training sessions
  • Membership in the international FIPS network
